One of the many reasons why we here at Ban the Ban Wisconsin believe that smoking bans are a bad thing is because they make criminals of otherwise law-abiding individuals and businesses. Smoking bans mostly rely on civilian reports of ban violators rather than police patrolling, thus creating a sort of “secret police” who turn in their neighbors to the government.
Well, Ohio businesses are now being scoped-out by their own “SS”, and they’ve taken it to the web. www.smokechoke.com is a web site that prides itself on “outing” businesses who are allegedly thumbing their noses at the intrusive law.
Not only do these busybody nannies provide a listing of businesses supposedly in violation of the Ohio statewide smoking ban, they allow their visitors to “report” violators directly from their site. Curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to sign up for an account.
Apparently you need only be 13 years of age or older to report a smoking violation. So not only are they encouraging people to join their secret police and report otherwise law-abiding citizens to the authorities, they’re also encouraging teenagers to join their ranks, as well.
For this reason, the people at SmokeChoke have earned our Smoker Hater of the Week award.

This is right out of any totalitarian state throughout world history. The Soviet Union, Red China, Cuber, Nazi Germany.
Quit your whining and complaining, many other states have acquired the ban and ever since my state did I haven’t been happier. Smoking is no good for anybody but tobacco companies pocketbooks. I don’t car if it’s your life, your choice.. its my lungs and my choice to bash your head in if i catch you smoking where you shouldn’t be.

People like you make me laugh my ass off. Fighting for individual and property rights is hardly whining. You people on the other hand, whined, cheated and lied to the nanny state to get the draconian laws passed. Then start little whiny sites like smokechoke because individuals actually have the courage to stand up to you and your socialist agenda. Funny thing is the only thing you have accomplished is to provide free advertising for smokers to find their favorite smokeasy!
