The county of Eau Claire is considering a ban that would extend into unincorporated areas that don’t have their own local government – presumably to protect them from themselves.
As always, the rhetoric remains the same. It’s for their health. It’s for the people. It’s not a big issue. Blah Blah Blah.
And when the heart and soul is driven out of those rural unincorporated towns and villages because the smokers are forced to go elsewhere? Is that what we mean by good? Is that what we mean by “not a big deal?”
Basic economics, sociology and psychology should be mandated for people who make laws, because somehow they just don’t seem to get it. Or maybe just a course in ethics.
