Ban the Ban Wisconsin is proud to promote our fledgling sister organization, Ban the Ban Minnesota!
As most of you already know, Minnesota passed a statewide smoking ban last year. Tavern owners have watched their sales drop, and many have closed or are struggling to stay open. Taverns across the St. Croix river here in Wisconsin–Hudson, for example–have seen an extreme increase in their customer base that can be directly related to Minnesota’s smoking ban.
Minnesota is also the home of the famous ‘Theater Night’, where tavern owners staged ‘plays’ with their patrons and employees as the actors in order to defy the ban under a legislative exemption that allowed smoking in theater productions.
We wish our brothers and sisters across the river much luck and lots of patience as they fight for property rights in Minnesota.
(We won’t be cheering for the Vikings, though. Sorry.)

This is one group of citizens demanding that elected officials rule on another group of law abiding, tax paying citizens! We pay regulatory agencies such as OSHA millions if not billions for their services. The Smoking Nazis should take up the fight with them and leave the elected officials alone.
