In my forum hopping I came across this letter to the director of the the department of Health from the majority whip in Ohio. It sheds light on the in his words “poorly written and draconian statue.” He closes the letter with the statement

Stumbled onto this and hope “ya’ll” will sign the Stop Smoking Bans and Increased Tobacco Taxes Petition!
The Petition says:

Ok, I thought we were fighting a state-wide ban because the anti-smoking folks tell everybody that local control is bad because it creates a “patchwork.” Isn’t that why they keep calling for a level playing field?
