LiveFree Kenosha

Some of youi may have noticed the LiveFree Kenosha button pop up on this blog over the weekend, so now I would like to officially introduce it.

To prove that we here at BtBWI have a sense of humor once in a while, I bought the domain www.livefreekenosha.info and opened up a new page with the explicit goal of coutering BreatheFree Kenosha. The page will serve as a repository of information as well as a starting point for tackling the smoking ban issue in Kenosha.

So help us out in Kenosha by spreading the word about the voter referendum. Don’t let things slip away like they did in Marshfield.

  1. We need emails of your aldermen in the city along with the emails of the city council. I have sent an email to the city attourney Patrick.

To Kenoshans, make sure all the smokers and smoker supporters vote. In Marshfield, the numbers of the voters did not add up when the vote was counted due to not everyone voted. The people here thought that it will not pass, boy, they were wrong. Now they wished they voted. If they do not have transportation, help them out. Remember, 1 less voter can do damage to the outcome. Get the word out into the newspaper like letters to the editor. Take part on radio and tv talk shows where they discuss about this referendum. Get envolved in the community boards where the referendum is discussed like in the newspaper and tv.

Carmona’s report is based on bias and opinion findings instead of actual findings, according to John P. A. Ionnidis from the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, University of Ioannina School of Medicine, Ioannina, Greece and Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies, Department of Medicine, Tufts-New England Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, massachusetts, United States of America.

What the report fails to say is that it may not affect everybody just those who have bad respiratory like those who cannot be around smog, industrial areas, and near a lot of vehicle exhaust. Those who live on an oxygen tank are the ones who cannot be near smoke but not just cigerettes, but also all other kinds of chemicals in the air. Banning smoking is not going to solve their health problem due to there are other chemicals in the air that can make it bad for them. Those people are also not everybody, it is just a small percentage of people compared to the rest of the population. Items like this must be stressed to the public along with what is happening to the economy in the communities that have the ban and they must be from the voices of the people from the community that is affected. BreatheFree from here is lieing to the public and making everybody think that things are doing well where in fact they are not. They were confronted with the data after the vote that they cannot explain with the reasons of why. This must be stressed to all the voters. Being confronted and voted out will put a change on BreatheFree. They did not win in Stevens Point and in Wisconsin Rapids. Use the list of all the businesses that closed in the cities of the ban in the state along with out of the state like New York and Minnesota. Those are the actual data compared to what BreatheFree has which is based on bias and opinion. They have no proof of a success out of the ban. You got to fight this hard. I have read the BreatheFree propanda there, they are the same on what they used here in Marshfield. It is all lies like a scam to destroy the economy of a community.

Good luck everyone. If I can come up with more ideas and research to help you, I will let you know.

  2. Antis are always claiming that the SG’s Report says:”There is no safe level of exposure to second-hand smoke.”

They should read the darn thing!!

    Surgeon General’s Report
Introduction, Summary, and Conclusions page 11
    Major Conclusions

    4. The scientific evidence INDICATES that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke.

Note that the report does not say evidence PROVES that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke, the report says the evidence is suggestive but not sufficient to infer proof.

Sooo, there maybe is, there could possibly be, there might be, we kind of think that, but there is NO CONCLUSIVE PROOF that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke.

The 2006 SG’s Report PROVES that there is no conclusive proof that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke!!

If such conclusive proof did exist, I am certain that they would have shown it!!!!
