Whoops!

The fact that somebody leaked the information to the bars aside, the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department really should have thought about things a little bit. After all, with all of the nazi connotation and accusations of being facists etc, how much sense does it  make to refer to a planned series of raids on area bars as a “blitz?”

Smoking ban battle rages

There’s a file at the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department marked “The Blitz.” Health inspectors planned to fan out across Kanawha County one night last month and check bars and gambling parlors for smoking violations. However, “The Blitz” was called off. Someone had warned the bar owners about the expected sweep.
