You would think that I would be used to the whining and crying from the “I don’t like smoke” crowd, but seriously, the pathetic nature of these people continues to blow me away…
This is a response that was posted to an article on the Chippewa Falls ban falling apart:

” “I dont know if banning it in a local municipality as small as ours will be of any significance health-wise”. Mr. Anderson – for that ignorant, uneducated, and just plain stupid comment, I think you should be booted off the council. Just how many victims does it take before a municipality deserves a ban? Eau Claire did it and thankfully for me, I now have a place to go to enjoy a drink or two without having to choke on other peoples smoke all night. Moreover, I don’t smell like an ashtray in the morning. Waiting for the state to take action could be years to come and unless municipalities step-up and do something about it, nothing will ever get done. Unfortunately, people are dying in the meantime and it’s not only the smokers that are suffering, but also the remaining 83% of the general public that doesn’t smoke. In the name of the mighty dollar, you’re accomodating 17% of the population that smokes in an effort to keep the bars running smoothly. Statistically, something doesn’t seem right here. “

They always like to have a little whine with their waving arms and fake cough.
Who cares about annoying and whiny guys like RAJ! Especially when there already were bars within Eau Claire that made the choice on their own accord to be 100% smoke-free, BEFORE EC’s ban started in July, and in the case of Dooley’s Pub. I recall watching a video about the Eau Claire ban debate, and thought it was very interesting the owner of this bar chose to be smoke-free, way before EC ever debated a ban. Doubt he has as many customers in his bar nowadays, b/c of EC unnecessarily forcing all bars to go smoke-free, and DESTROYING the niche he once carved out for his bar:

Since I forgot to say this in my last comment, it’s nice to see Chippewa Falls was smart enough not to pass a ban in the end. Cheers to the Chippewa Falls City Council!
