The Eau Claire Ministry of State Security, er, I mean the Eau Claire Ministry of Public Health has punished a local tavern after police observed illegal smoking on the premsis.
The police weren’t looking for smoking, but after they observed the illegal activity they dutifully reported the offending establishment to the overseeing authority for proper processing.

Thanks for posting this article about the Elbow Room bar, Ryan. I’m hardly surprised to see the owner of this bar was quoted saying that his business fell almost 50%, since the EC ban started in July!
And heck, if I theoretically lived in Eau Claire, why wouldn’t I rather go to bars in surrounding communities? I definitely would(and still would patronize those bars instead to show my opposition to the EC ban, even if I (just saying theoretically, have NO plans to do this) stopped smoking tomorrow), that’s for darn sure.
